Southport is the one town outside Liverpool where we own a building. Adelphi Chambers on Hoghton Street, a hundred-year-old office building a few minutes from the town centre, is being converted to self-contained flats under Class MA prior approval, so we have a live site in the town and are in it every week.

The housing stock is different from Liverpool’s terraces: bigger Victorian semis and detached houses in Birkdale and Hesketh Park, 1930s semis in Ainsdale and Churchtown, and a lot of loft and garage space that has never been used. The same trades that do our Liverpool work do our Southport work; it is forty minutes up the A59 from the office.
